Research Facilities in Geological Sciences

Overview

The Department of Geological Sciences maintains a number of internal laboratories and analytical facilities.  The facilities are available to both internal and external (other tertiary institutions and commercial) users at affordable rates.  The Department houses the following laboratories/instruments:

Linkam Fluid Inclusion Laboratory
Stable isotope Laboratory​
Geophysics Software Laboratory
Sedimentology Laboratory

Laboratories and instruments are supported by staffed, sample preparation facilities and clean labs.

A thin section facility and rock crushing room are also housed in the Department.

In addition, the Department of Geological Sciences owns a suite of vehicles used to support fieldwork and research activities at the University.
